Most Popular Garment Personalisation Techniques

Embroidery for Corporate Clothing

Embroidery Branding on Corporate Clothing

Embroidery is a branding process where a logo or artwork design is sewn using threads of silk, cotton, gold or silver onto the garment with the use of a computerised embroidery machine. This process offers a highly professional, long-lasting finish and is the preferred personalisation technique for most high end clothing and the majority of head-wear.

Screen Printing for Corporate Clothing

Screen Printing on Corporate Clothing

Screen printing is a branding method where ink is applied to the surface of the garment by passing the ink through a mesh design that has been exposed with the use of emulsion onto a mesh screen. Each colour is applied using a different screen, one at a time, combined to achieve the final finish. This means that for each separate colour an additional screen is required. Hence, when it comes to printing in many colours and especially for a small run of clothing, digital printing would be a more cost efficient solution. The advantage of screen-printed garments is that they wash well and can maintain the print quality for quite a  long time. Screen printing is also the best branding method for designs that require a high level of vibrancy, when printing on dark garments. The ink in screen printing is applied thicker than digital printing, which results in brighter colours.

Digital Printing for Corporate Clothing

Digital Printing on Corporate Clothing

Digital printing is a relatively newer process where the artwork is being processed by a computer, and then printed directly onto the surface of  the garment. It works in a similar way as an inkjet printer but printing on garments instead of paper. Main advantage of digital printing over other printing processes  is that it can produce higher resolution prints, making it great for replicating detailed artwork onto the garment especially for multi-colour designs. Moreover, digital printing makes it easier to facilitate smaller orders as no screens or physical setup is required.

Heat Transfer Printing for Corporate Clothing

Heat Transfer Printing on Corporate Clothing

This method applies custom designs to garments through a process that uses a combination of heat and pressure.  Most common kind of heat transfer printing is the digital print heat transfer. With digital print heat transfer, the desired artwork is first digitally printed on a special heat transfer paper using a solvent ink. This type of ink allows the design to be transferred from the paper to the garment when pressed with heat.  One of the main advantages of heat transfers is that one can do small quantities in full colour at a reasonable cost.
